About Me

Armando Pico’s passion for photography began at the age of 10 when he built his first camera out of a cardboard box and a roll of 110 film. After graduating from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, his career as a photojournalist took off earning him 19 Emmy Awards in just 17 years.
With a cinematographic resume that includes the royal wedding of the prince of Spain, he has filmed major international news events for network television. In his extensive travels, Armando honed his photography skills capturing the people, landscapes and architecture that make each spot on the planet unique. Combining his keen interest for visual arts and music along with his news experience, Armando applies his photojournalistic style to all special event cinematography and photojournalism creating a unique product that captures your special moment for eternity. The images speak for themselves.

Congratulations Aillette and Anthony on your recent St Patrick Catholic Church Miami Beach wedding. It was such an honor to be a part of your special day. Aillette is actually the daughter of a long time colleague and fellow news photographer Alan Diaz, who put his trust in us to capture this memorable moment. The wedding ceremony was held at St Patrick Catholic Church in Miami Beach followed by a spectacular reception at the Miami Beach Resort and Spa. Many special moments were lived throughout the day but one in particular stood out the most… it was between Aillette and her mother who is undergoing cancer treatment. A fairytale Church of the Little Flower wedding has come to life! Daddy’s little princess tied the knot. Katerina and John Michael’s wedding day turned out to be every girl’s dream surrounded by family and friends. Katerina looked radiant and truly in love. It was a stunning event filled with charming details and lots of sparkle, and A Pico Studio was able to capture it all. Katerina and John said their “I do’s” at the Church of the Little Flower in Coral Gables, and later enjoyed one fabulous evening at the Coral Gables Country Club. La Hora Loca was full of excitement with live musicians and Brazilian dancers. They even brought out a Celia Cruz look-a-like to perform some of her biggest hits. We had a blast filming this wedding. We recently posted beautiful images from Monika & Benjamin’s DoubleTree Hotel Sunny Isles beach wedding. Monika, originally from Czech Republic and Benjamin from Germany, decided to host a destination wedding in Sunny Isles, Florida with close family and friends. Monika, originally from Czech Republic and Benjamin from Germany, met in the airport in Chicago on September 2011. They were both waiting to board a plane to Germany. Once inside, Monika realized that Ben managed to get a seat right behind her in the plane. Ben now only had about 8 hours to work his magic and turn a spontaneous meet n’greet into a long-term relationship. They decided to host a destination wedding in Sunny Isles, Florida with close family and friends. Many of them flew from Europe to attend the beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony. They were a wonderful couple to work withIt was a gorgeous but extremely windy day, and although filming and capturing clean sound under those conditions was challenging, we still were able to capture great images of them and their true love. We would also like to send a big shoutout to all the great vendors that helped put this day together, starting with Eric Trelles from ET Events, who made everything run smoothly.

Gloria & Freddy’s Punta Cana Beach Wedding Photos

This Hard Rock Hotel Punta Cana wedding was a pleasure to photograph. It was a stunning destination wedding in Dominican Republican. My friend and colleague from Univision WLTV 23, Gloria Ordaz, tied the knot with Freddy Balsera. Dozens of friends and family travelled to take part in the gorgeous beach wedding ceremony at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Punta Cana. The couple greated their guests with a welcoming “White Party” the night before the BIG DAY. We took advantage of several unique amenities, such as the Hard Rock Hotel Spa lobby, and breathtaking gardens, to take some amazing portraits of this beautiful couple. Their wedding day was truly a celebrity affair. Gloria wore a stunning dress by Oscar de la Renta from Ever After Miami, in Coconut Grove. We are honored to have been able to capture every magical moment. Enjoy!!!
