My life has revolved around shooting video and capturing great images. It’s my passion. I’m simply used to being behind the lens trying to get people to feel comfortable so they can look as natural as possible in their photographs. But this time around, it was my turn to be on the other side of the lens along with my fiancee, Andrea. For our engagement photography session in Miami’s Design District, I decided to put all my trust in my photography partners, Carlos Barquin and Javier Uria, who also shoot weddings with me. I must admit that it was easier said than done. A part of me still wanted to focus on the technical aspects of photography such as lighting, posing, locations, and the list goes on. It’s a good thing my fiancee knows that I’m a perfectionist because every so often I would stop to give my two cents of what I wanted next. But sometimes you just have to step back and trust someone else’s vision, and that’s exactly what I ended up doing. We decided to venture out of the traditional engagement photography locations and tried something modern and trendy. Miami’s Design District has so many wonderful locations to photograph. At the end of the day, we were absolutely thrilled with the results. Carlos and Javier captured some great images. Thank you so much! Andrea and I will treasure these photos forever. We greatly appreciate it guys. It’s still somewhat odd to be the “client” as opposed to the main photographer, but hey, we definitely had fun! We hope you all like these photos as much as we did.
